Who am I and what am I doing?
My name is Carren and I have experience in the areas of education, culture, travel, tourism, photography, design and creativity.
I am a creative type… A divergent thinker and I’m wielding some seriously awesome abandoned fabrics as an outlet for my creativity.
I love to use old-skool techniques to create solutions for the modern lifestyle. Maybe low-waste living just needs a great vintage fabric ribbon wrapped around it to make it more accessible and fun?
I am an average, everyday person
I’m aiming to “use what my momma gave me”… in this case, she gave me a range of skills and a “can-do” attitude.
I want to revive the lost skill of sewing on a button or hemming a pair of jeans. I would love to help people reclaim their textile independence because after-all, being capable never goes out of style!
At the moment I’m “going it alone” but I hope to build a community of like-minded souls who are interested in embracing “doingness”.
Let’s share information, skills and ideas and work together to change our worlds.
